Southern CA: 3-7 business days Northern CA: 4-8 business days Outside of CA: 5-8 business days

Can my recommendation be mailed to another state?

It sure can. Your recommendation may be mailed to any address in the United States. However, the recommendation is only valid for use in the state of California, and dispensaries are not able to ship products across state lines.

What service do you use to ship the paper and card recommendations?

We use USPS first class mail, which is sent in a discreet envelope from Reliant Medical Technologies, Inc.

Do you provide a tracking number?

Unfortunately USPS makes it cost prohibitive to track smaller envelopes. However, you will receive a notification email when your recommendation has been mailed.

I made a mistake on my shipping address. Now what?

Weedrecs has implemented efficiency solutions that reduce our costs, and the savings are passed down to our patients. We understand that mistakes happen, but these types of corrections require a workflow outside of these efficiencies we have created, and will require you to correct your info and pay a correction fee here.

How do I decide which type of reommendation to get?

Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned pro that needs a renewal, Weedrecs provides the option to get "just what you need to get your weed." Our motto is based on our flexibility to provide your perfect-fit solution. Some patients simply want a digital copy and don't want to spend extra money on a paper certificate, whereas others may want both digital and paper copies. Which type of certificate you choose depends on your needs, the requirements of the dispensary and/or delivery service that you will be using, and how much you want to spend. The bottom line is that we do not want you to pay extra money for something that you don't need. Some dispensaries or delivery services insist that an original certificate with a raised seal and an ink signature is required for access to their shop. If so, or if you want to have the flexibility to go to any dispensary or use any delivery service in the State of California, we recommend that you spend the extra money for the paper copy. We will send you the actual certificate with a raised seal and original signature, which you should receive in 5-7 days by US mail (faster service available). The majority of delivery services will accept a digital copy, but it is up to you to determine beforehand what version to buy. WeedRecs provides a money-back guarantee that the paper certificate with seal and signature will be accepted at all dispensaries and delivery services throughout the State of California.

I screwed up and applied for a renewal or upgrade, but was never a Weedrecs patient to begin with. Can I have a refund?

In order to keep the quality of our medical assessments high and our prices low, we need to keep a baseline of efficiencies in place. To help avoid patient confusion, we post images of our recommendations and include verbiage encouraging patients to ensure that they are submitting a request to the correct entity. For this reason, as stated on our renewal and upgrade pages, we do not issue refunds.

Oh no! I lost my physical recommendation. How do I get a replacement?

You can replace to a paper certificate, or a Plexi-Rec card by going here.

Cannabis in California

Even though California passed Proposition 64 in November of 2016, not all dispensaries are able to sell marijuana without seeing a doctor's recommendation. In fact, most dispensaries not only need to adhere to the local city laws around zoning and compliance, but will also enforce their own best practices. For example, some that are licensed to sell for recreational use will extend discounts for medical use, at their own discretion.

Yes, you are protected from legal marijuana offenses related to transportation, possession, and dispensing according to Prop 215, SB 420, and Health and Safety Codes related to possession of cannabis flower, concentrates, and transportation by a caregiver within the state of California.

Is there anything illegal about getting evaluated for medical cannabis?

No, it is perfectly legal since all of our doctors are California licensed and in adherence with California telemedicine laws.

Can I get medical cannabis without a CA Drivers License or ID?

To get your medical marijuana card, we need to be able to prove that you're over 18 years old, so an official state ID or driver's license (doesn't have to be California), passport or military ID is sufficient.

Dispensaries and delivery services, however, can give cannabis only to a California resident. So if you don't have California ID, they may as that you provide proof of residency, which is as simple as showing a lease agreement or utility bill.

What is a MMJ "recommendation" and how is that different than a "prescription"?

Although great strides have been made in terms of the broadening acceptance of plant medicines, marijuana remains on the Federal government's list of schedule one drugs. Drugs on this schedule cannot technically be "prescribed". However, in accordance with California's Prop 215, a doctor's "recommendation" may authorize a patient with qualifying conditions to purchase, consume, possess, and cultivate cannabis for their own consumption in the state of California.

What is a Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) and how do I get one?

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) administers the Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) program. The Medication Marijuana Program (MMP) was created with the intent of bringing a voluntary medical marijuana identification card issuance and registry program for all qualified patients and caregivers. In accordance with Proposition 64, patients in possession of a MMIC will be granted extended privacy protection, custodial and parental rights protections, and exemption from the retail sales tax on medical cannabis products (upon presentation of the MMIC issued by the CDPH at the time of purchase). To lean more about obtaining a MMIC, please visit the CDPH site here. To be clear, the "official marijuana card" cannot be sold by a doctor, and must be issued by the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) Medical Marijuana Identification Card Program (MMICP) and must be verifiable. If your plastic card doesn't resemble the image above, it has not been issued by the CDPH. Therefore, it is not a state-issued card and does not provide you certain benefits, like tax-exemption with your purchases. For more information on this program, click here.
